Organizers of the First Ural Opened Festival of Russian Cinema which will be held 21-27th September in Yekaterinburg announced Jury members.
The jury includes Vladimir Menshov, Elena Stishova, Elena Duffort, Sergey Astakhov, Alexey Fedorchenko.



The jury will be headed by an Honored Art Worker of Russian, Peoples Artist of RSFSR, Oscar-winner, director of Russian Oscar Committee —Vladimir Valentinovich Menshov. Practically all of his films became hits - «Practical Joke», «Moscow does not believe in tears», «Love and Pigeons», «What a Mess!», «The Envy of Gods». All Vladimir Menshov’s films today remain ones of the most popular and constantly are on the air. Director’s individual style has all of the genres of popular cinema — from melodrama and lyrical comedy to satiric grotesk and musical film.

 

 

 

Elena Stishova will decide about the fate of the competition awards. Elena is one of the most inspirational, tough and attentive Russian critics, cinema historian, Honored Art Worker of Russia, academician of Russian cinema academy «Nika», She is an irreplaceable editor of the magazine «Iskusstvo kino» («Art of Cinema»), she is an author of hundreds of articles and several books about contemporary Russian cinema.

 


 

Elena Duffort is a member of Direction of the Festival of Russian Cinema in Honfleur (France), an author of numerous publications about Russian cinematography, vice-president of the association and one of the founders of Kinoglaz.fr.

 

 

Sergey Astakhov will judge the films of the competition program. Sergey is a camera-man of cult movies of 90-s and 2000-s, winner of numerous prestigious awards, among which are «Goled camera of International Cinema Festival in Macedonia» for the film «Brother», award of Russian Cameraman Guild «White Square», «Nika» Award for Best cinematography in the film «Metro». He has done a lot for domestic cinematography, not less than the most famous artists – but stayed behind the screen all the time.He filmed more than 50 films and around 30 documentaries for BBC, Discovery, and other foreign channels.

 

 

Russian cinema director and script-writer Alexey Fedorchenko is a winner of multiple international cinema festivals. His films won prizes in Venice, New York, Rome, Moscow, Stockholm, Warsaw, Zagreb, Abu-Dabi, San-Francisco, Wiesbaden, Lissabon and other cities around the world. Fedorchenko is a member of European Cinema Academy and Asia-Pacific Cinema Academy.

 



Films included to the competition program will be announced 7th September. The same day will be known the films of the programs «Short-film», «XXI century view».


The Festival will be opened with the film «After you» where a producer and a main actor is Sergey Bezrukov. The closing film - «Uchenik»( «Student») of director Kirill Serebrennikov.


In total, during the Festival in Yekaterinburg and in region will be shown more than 70 films, meetings, workshops and special events will be held. Detailed program will be announced 7th September on the Festival web-site uralkinofest.ru.


The First Ural Opened Festival of Russian Cinema will welcome guests and audience from 21th till 27th September.
