Andrey Proshkin graduated from the journalism faculty of the Moscow State University, took classes at Marlen Khutsiev’s workshop at the high course of cinema and television. He worked as a second assistant director within the group of Aleksander Proshkin and Karen Shakhnazarov, he also shot TV programs on REN TV and RTR from 1998 to 2000. Director of the films: Orleans (2015), The Horde (2012), Minnesota(2009), Moth Games (2004), Spartacus and Kalashnikov (2002), Orange juice (2010), Soldier’s Decameron (2005), films for TV series Stopping Power (2002) and Crime Column (2007). A prize winner of “Golden Eagle Award”, “Silver Saint George”at MIFF, “the White Elephant”, the winner of festivals in Moscow, Buenos Aires, Banff, Zlin, Sochi, Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok.
Andrey Proshkin together with Daniil Dondurey, Alexander Gelman, Aleksei German, Aleksey German-junior, Vladimir Dostal, Vitaly Mansky, Yuriy Norshteyn, Eldar Ryazanov, Alexander Sokurov, Boris Khlebnikov, has become a founder of the FilmUnion. The first congress of the organization, which happened in Moscow from July, 1-2, 2011, saw him to be elected as Chairman.
